My brother was opertaed for total gastrectomy...

Asked March 9, 2011

My brother was opertaed for total gatrctomy 23 days before, as per histopathological reports surgery was successful and no traces observed in peripheral region also.
As per surgen's original view patient shuld recover in 10 days but unfortunately one drain out of three drains is not stopping and is giving output of 1300 mls in 24 hrs. Digital X-ray could not locate the point of leakage.
Doctor had started oral and JT tube feeding for some time (1or 2 days) expecting healing process to be faster but drain did not reduce and some other complcations like disorientation in communicatiion started. Doctors stopped all external feeding and moved patient to ICU for contenious monitoring.
