Is EPOCH-R a good way to treat Mantle Cell Lymphoma with EPOCH-R?
Asked April 7, 2009
Do you have any experience treating Mantle Cell Lymphoma with EPOCH-R, and if so, what can you tell me about the results?
Expert answer
EPOCH-R is a well know regiment used to treat Non Hodgkin's lymphoma. It was initially developed as a second line therapy (to be given once a patient has a recurrence). More recently it has also been used as a first line (initial therapy) for patients with HIV associated lymphoma. I do not have any personal experience with the use of EPOCH-R as initial therapy for mantle cell lymphoma but I believe it is a reasonable choice and it should not be any worse then CHOP-R. Although, it remains to be seen if it will be any better.
