My mother was recently diagnosed with gallbladder cancer. they discovered it while removing her gallbladder. she had porcelien gallbladder and as a result it was growing in her liver. the gallbladder was removed and she has a small amount of cancer in her liver and bile ducts and in some of her lymph nodes. she went in for surgery and the surgeon discovered that she had a few spots in her abdomen so he then sewed her back up and removed nothing. in your professional medical opinion what do you think that our next step should be? thanks.

Expert answer

Hi, your next step is to get another opinion from someone who can review your records and determine why this was done. This is difficult to answer with limited information but is sounds like you will definitely need more in terms of treatment. Either a combination of chemotherapy and/or radiation may be required. Talk to your new oncologist about these options.
