Expert answer

Yes there are new treatments! Most recently the TOGA trial showed new Targeted Therapies such as Herceptin home into a special receptor known as Her2/Neu (ErbB2). This drug was approved for Breast Cancer and now Gastric Cancer also shows significant response to this drug as well. I have used this in many patients demonstrating good results to this in combination to chemotherapy. Talk to your Doctor to see if testing can be done to see if she is a candidate for this treatment.
Thanks,

Dr. Jag.
