Hi, my Dx is B-call Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia/small Lymphocytic Lymphoma. It also says KAPPA positive B Cells was detected. What that mean? What is my age expectancy now? Thanks.

Expert answer

Hi CLL/SLL is a chronic leukemia that typically has a very slow growing course. Without knowing anything else about what is going on with you, it is very hard to answer how long you may live. The average person with this illness tends to live a very long time. Most people pass away from something else other than the disease. Sometimes the disease can change/transform into a more aggressive disease. Most patients do not require urgent treatment of their illness unless it starts to result in symptoms. Talk to your Doctor about your genetic profile for additional risk factors which may or may not be important specifically to you.
