WHAT IS A CANCER CELL?

Expert answer

Hi,
All living things are made out of cells and the cell is the smallest unit of life. Sometimes changes take place that make cells become mutated or changed. Some mutation are good such as the adaptation mechanism for skin color; and, others can be bad such as in breast cancer. When a good cell goes bad this is called a cancer cell. It does not die and copies itself making more bad cells. When this continues, a tumor forms leading to more tumors. Eventually the tumors take the body over leading to death. This is why cancer in its smallest form can be so deadly.
Hope this helps,
