I am a freelance writer that was able to work from home while caring for my mother. It was one of the hardest things I had to do at the age of 31, when she was only 55 at the time.
My mother was diagnosed in 2007,two days after Thanksgiving, with stage 3 colon cancer. She never told any of us that she wasn't feeling well. They found a 13lb tumor in her colon. With no outward signs of it, none of us had any idea that she was sick until it was almost too late.
